It does not replace the separate Privacy Consent provided if you proceed to a finance application or are asked to upload supporting documents.

Who operates this website

The Pre Approved Autos website at https://www.preapprovedautos.com.au is owned and operated by Braid Finance Pty Ltd ABN 80 638 771 007 ACN 638 771 007, Australian credit licence 536690. Pre Approved Autos is not a separate credit licensee and does not provide credit assistance independently of Braid Finance.

Information covered by this policy

We may collect the following information through the website:
  • information entered into an enquiry or pre approval form, including your name, telephone number, email address, requested finance amount and vehicle of interest;
  • information you provide when you contact us by telephone, email, messaging or social media about a website enquiry;
  • technical information such as your IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, referring page, timestamps, website interactions and form completion events;
  • campaign, referral and attribution information, including UTM parameters and advertising click identifiers where present;
  • your cookie and optional tracking choices; and
  • records relating to enquiries, communications, access or correction requests and privacy complaints.
Please do not upload identification documents, bank statements, payslips or other financial documents through a general website enquiry form unless we have directed you to a secure document upload process and provided the separate Privacy Consent that applies to that process.

How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you use a form, contact us or change your website privacy choices. We also collect limited technical and referral information automatically through our website systems and, where you consent, through optional analytics or advertising technologies. We may receive referral information from the website, search engine, advertisement, social media service or referring page through which you reached us.

Why we use website information

We use website information to:
  • receive and respond to your enquiry;
  • contact you about the product or service you requested;
  • route the enquiry to the appropriate Braid Finance team member;
  • operate, secure, diagnose and improve the website and its forms;
  • remember and apply your privacy and cookie choices;
  • measure website use and advertising performance where you have enabled the relevant optional category;
  • prevent misuse, fraud, malicious activity and unauthorised access;
  • maintain business, compliance and complaint records; and
  • comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
If you do not provide the information required by an enquiry form, we may not be able to respond or contact you about your request.

What happens after an online enquiry

Submitting an initial enquiry allows Braid Finance to contact you about your request. It does not by itself authorise Braid Finance to obtain a consumer credit report or submit a finance application to a lender. If you choose to proceed, we will provide a separate Privacy Consent and Information Handling Authority before requesting detailed financial information or supporting documents. That document explains the additional collection, verification, credit reporting and lender disclosures involved in a finance application.

Who may receive website information

We may disclose website information to:
  • Braid Finance personnel and contractors who handle enquiries or maintain the website;
  • website hosting, form, customer relationship management, communications, cybersecurity, data storage and IT support providers;
  • analytics and advertising providers, including Google, Meta and Microsoft, only where the relevant optional tracking has been enabled;
  • professional advisers, auditors and insurers where reasonably required;
  • government agencies, regulators, law enforcement bodies, courts or other persons where required or authorised by law; and
  • another person with your consent or at your direction.

Cookies analytics and advertising

The website uses required technologies for operation, security, form processing and remembering your privacy choices. Optional analytics and advertising technologies are used only according to the choices presented in the website Privacy choices panel. If enabled, Google, Meta or Microsoft may receive information such as your IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, browser or advertising identifiers and form completion events. For selected advertising forms, Meta may also receive hashed versions of your email address and telephone number and selected application milestone events for campaign measurement, attribution, deduplication and optimisation. Hashing changes contact details before transmission but does not make them anonymous. We do not configure optional tracking services to receive finance form answers, financial information, credit files, identification documents or uploaded documents. More information is available in our Cookie Policy at https://www.preapprovedautos.com.au/cookie-policy/

Direct marketing

We may use your contact details to communicate about products or services where you have consented, would reasonably expect us to do so, or the communication is otherwise permitted by law. You can opt out of marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe facility in a message, replying STOP to an SMS where available, or contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not stop communications required to respond to or administer your enquiry.

Overseas processing

Some technology, analytics and advertising providers operate outside Australia. If you enable optional tracking, information may be processed in the United States and other countries in which Google, Meta, Microsoft or their service providers operate. Other contracted technology providers may also use overseas infrastructure. Where required by the Australian Privacy Principles, we take reasonable steps in relation to an overseas recipient’s handling of personal information.

Security and retention

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. We retain website enquiry and technical records only for as long as reasonably required for the purposes described in this policy, our business and legal obligations, dispute handling and security. We then delete or de identify information where it is lawful and practicable to do so.

Access and correction

You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. If an exception permits us to refuse access or correction, we will generally explain the reason and available complaint options.

Privacy complaints

Please contact our Privacy Officer if you believe we have not handled your personal information appropriately. We will acknowledge and investigate your complaint and aim to respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Visit www.oaic.gov.au or telephone 1300 363 992.
